After successfully completing the Deep Diver course you will be certified to dive up to 40m. This is the maximum limit for PADI recreational diving. 

You Instructors will ensure you understand the impact of diving deeper on your No Decompression Limits and air consumption. You will also spend some time practising emergency skills and getting comfortable being a little deeper. 

If you wish to do the course onboard KLM Eliya, we will begin your training on the second day of your trip so that your first day will be spent ‘fun diving’, and getting comfortable with the equipment, conditions and guides before heading deeper. The course includes 4 training dives which will be completed over 2 days. Don't worry- you will still be able to join the remaining dives purely for fun :)

1 day - 2 dives ($180)
What better place to learn about Drift Diving than Komodo!! Have you ever watched your dive guide cruising along a reef effortlessly, while you struggle to maintain your position and control?! This course is a fantastic way to improve your buoyancy and trim and our experienced instructors will teach you about positioning and reading water movement for better control while drifting along. 

All of this  will help you to become more comfortable in strong currents and often results in improved air consumption too! You will also practice using an SMB (Surface Marker Buoy) and practice different entry techniques. 

The Drift Diver Speciality is completed over 2 dives. Your Instructor will choose the best sites with the right current to ensure you get the most out of this course.

1 days - 2 dives ($180)
If you aren’t sure where to start when it comes to taking photo's underwater, then this course is for you! You will complete 2 dives with our experienced Instructors (who are also keen underwater photographers!) who will teach and show you how to choose the right camera setup for you, the PADI SEA (Shoot, Examine, Adjust) method for getting great shots quickly, principles for good composition of underwater images, and practical considerations such as buoyancy and positioning to get those perfect shots. Our Instructors and guides are all passionate about photography so you will leave with plenty of great tips and advice during your stay onboard the KLM Eliya :) 

With so many cameras now available from simple point & shoot styles to the more advanced DSLRs, underwater photography is now becoming so accessible to everyone!

1 day - Theory only course ($150)
Nitrox is oxygen enriched air giving you a higher percentage of oxygen in your cylinder. Diving with Nitrox increases your No Decompression / Stop Limits and allows divers to stay longer at depth. 

By the end of this course you will have a better understanding of why many divers prefer to dive with nitrox / enriched air and you will understand the physiological and NDL benefits of doing so. As well as the extra considerations you must take into account while diving with nitrox. Onboard, you will also be shown how to analyse and check the percentage of oxygen in you own scuba tanks using an analyser.  

The theory for this course can be started in advance of your arrival onboard, and will be completed on the first day so you will be fully able to make use of the nitrox that we offer onboard Eliya.

1 days - 3 dives ($180)
Staying orientated whilst diving can be quite overwhelming to many divers, and when diving with Scuba Junkie- you won't need to worry about it as our guides have you covered! However, for those of you who are keen to develop your navigation skills, this is definitely the course for you! Do you remember using your compass on your previous training dives (most divers don't!)? This course is great for those wanting to become a little more self reliant and oriented while diving! Your Instructor will help you practice various compass skills onboard KLM Eliya before practising these same skills underwater. You will also learn more about the art of natural navigation (navigating without the a compass) which will in turn, fine-tune your observation skills. Over 3 dives you will be taught the skills and considerations needed for navigating while scuba diving.

3 dives ($180)
It is surprising just how much the underwater world can change at night, with a whole array of marine life only (or most commonly) seen when the sun sets! Experiencing the reefs at night will introduce you to new behaviours (such as parrotfish slumbering with a bubble over their heads), or seeing electric clams clearly in the darkness! For many, the thought of descending below the surface at night can be daunting which is why the Night Diver Speciality is the perfect solution as you will be completely safe with your dive instructor by your side, allowing you to gain much needed experience and confidence in the dark! 

This course is completed over 3 dives. You will learn about using torches, signalling methods and night navigation during this course. As well as ensuring good buoyancy and self awareness to ensure you know where you are in relation to everyone and everything else in the dark!
